The programme will be offered in two years on a full time basis utilising a blended approach to teaching and emphasis is placed on online teaching and learning. This allows the students to work and study. The programme provides an avenue for graduate education for advanced mental health practice in an era of looming societal and global health threats. The aim of the programme is to guide learners to understand mental health, the magnitude and burden of mental health problems, and to devise evidence-based strategies and guidelines to promote mental health and prevent mental disorders in Malawi. Admission Requirements Applicants to be admitted into Master of Science in Mental Health (Public Mental Health Care) programme should be registered to practice by a relevant professional body, and have any of the following qualifications including 2 years’ experience of practice in their field: 1. Bachelor of Science in Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing 2. Bachelor of Science in Clinical Psychiatry 3. Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Mental Health/Community Health/Adult Health/Child Health/Midwifery) 4. Bachelor of Arts Social Work 5. Bachelor of Science in Social Work/Psychology/Counselling

Fees for the Programme
Successful applicants will be required to pay MWK3,751,530 for Malawian nationals and USD5,175 for SADC students payable in two instalments. International students from countries outside the SADC region will pay USD8,383 . Half of the fees must be paid during registration at the beginning of the first semester.
