This is a two-year Master of Science in Pharmacy (MScPharm) programme, which will produce pharmacists with technical knowledge, attitude and skills in pharmacy practice and/or clinical pharmacy. Those specialising in Clinical Pharmacy are earmarked to be working in hospital wards to augment the clinicians/physicians, nurses and other health worker in providing the best pharmacotherapy to the patients. Those specialising in Pharmacy Practice are being targeted to provide the best pharmacotherapy in the community pharmacy settings. Learners who voluntarily withdraw after successfully completing Year 1 modules (for reasons other than academic failure) will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma. For those learners specialising in clinical pharmacy, there shall be mandatory attachments to relevant wards and departments in selected tertiary hospitals. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 2 years (post internship) relevant working experience after obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent qualifications approved by the University). Registered with Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority or its equivalent (for those outside Malawi). For those interested in Clinical Pharmacy route, they should have approval of study leave from their employer as they will spend most of their study time at a teaching hospital in Malawi.

Fees for the Programme

Successful applicants will be required to pay MWK 2,550,000 for Malawian nationals and MWK equivalent of $6,000 for SADC students payable in two instalments. International students from countries outside the SADC region will pay MWK equivalent of $8,000 . Half of the fees must be paid during registration at the beginning of the first semester.
